Assignment#22- Thanksgiving

Over thanksgiving break, I was mostly lazy. I went to lunch a few days of the week with my mom and some friends of hers and mine. We went to The Old Spaghetti Factory, which was an amazing place with great service and food. We also went to this restaurant that just opened 6 months ago. It was very good. We all shared a couple of pizzas.

For thanksgiving, since my mom and I have no family in town, we went over to my moms friends family's house to share a turkey meal. When we went, everyone was very kind and loving. My mother and I felt comfortable and had such a great meal. We were and are so thankful to have them, and having them invite us to their home for thanksgiving. It was very kind and thoughtful of them, and we are very appreciative of them.

The few days after thanksgiving, my mom and I celebrated her birthday. We went to brunch with one of her friends, and had a great meal and just hung out there, them my mom wanted a tattoo so we all went to her tattoo guy's shop, and her tattooed her right then and there. As of right now, my mom has half a sleeve done. She has a cross, with Hawaiian flowers and butterflies.

Assignment#20- Free Choice

For Christmas, I am going to go to Tucson, Arizona. I am going there because all of my family is there, along with my boyfriend. My family at first was scared on how I was going to get there, because they are all short on money. As me and my boyfriend were talking on Skype one day, he offered to pay for a flight, to Tucson, and back. So that day, we were looking online, found dates and times, made sure everyone was okay with it, and then he continued to buy it for me! I am so apprciative of hmi buying those tickets for me, he is such an amazing guy and treats me so right.

I leave Saturday, December 22. The flight leaves at 8:00 am, and get to Tucson at 10:20 am. I come back to California Sunday, Janurary 6. The flight leaves at 11:40 am, and I get to California (LAX) at 12:15 pm. My plans for when I get to Tucson, my boyfriend is going to pick me up, and we will probably go see my whole family then visit his whole family. Other than that, my boyfriend and I are going to go to this place called Winter Haven. This is a part of Christmas when this neighborhood goes all out, and decorates their houses. This goes on only at night, a week before Christmas. There are some nights where you can either walk threw, drive threw, or take a carage.
Other than that, I don't think I will be doing much except spend my time with my family as well as with my boyfriend. I am so excited to go!

My opinion on smoking is I think it is really stupid, and has no purpose. People who smoke start having problems such as heart conditions, lung problems and so on. You also start to age faster in a  bad way. It messes up your teeth and makes your breath smell bad, as well as having your teeth turn yellow and get all gross. If someone smokes because they are having a lot of stress put on them, I think there are a lot more ways to handle it then smoking. You can go talk to a therapist, family member, or a friend. At the time someone might have some issues in their life that they think they cant handle, well try to quit smoking once you start.

Assignment#18- Pop Culture

Right now, i am interested in video games because my boyfriend is making me game with him. We both downloaded a game called Left 4 Dead 2. This game is about going around a part of town during an apocalyps, and try to find a room that is called a safe room that will get you and you team to the next level. You have to try to kill zombies before they get to you. You have a team of four, and you have to make sure you have each others back. It's all about team work and watching yourself and your team as you travel around the town looking for the safe room.

There are a lot of types of zombies that come after you. You have the regular zombies that just run after you. You have a Hunter, who wil jump all around on buildings then jump on you and will stay on you until your team kills them. You have a spitter, who spits its tounge at you and captures you suntil your team kills it and ssets you from. You have a Tank and a Charger that look a like, they are the biggest ones, and they will chase after you and do a lot of damage to you until they are killed. You have a boomer, who is a fat zombie, that if you shoot it, it exploses and green substance on you, and you cannot see very well for a couple seconds. Then you have a Jockey that jumps on your back and makes you run away from your team, so its harder for them to kill it, and you lose more life ethat way. Last but not least, there is a witch. They are hard to find, and when you find her, or shoot her, it startles her, and she will only run to the person who startled her. She does the most damage and the fastest.

Typing Test 3

In 7th grade, I took a typing class in Arizona. It taught me how to type with my fingers in certain spots, as well as how to type without looking. Even though I learned how to type like that, it is easier for me to type how I normally do.

I picked a website called Learn 2 Type. As I was looking over the site, there is a really cool test that you can take, that takes your speed and finds how many words you typed in a minute. There is a lot of different kinds of tests, one with just a few sentences, one with a paragraph and some with numbers! This site also has a few games that sound interesting to play that will help you with your typing. And last but not least, they have online lessons tat you may choose to take. One by one it will show you the tricks of typing fast and like a pro in no time!

Assignment#17-Halloween

My favorite halloween even that I have ever gone to would have to be when I went to The Slaughter House. This is in Tucson, Arizona.  This was a Meat Packing Plant back in the day. one day, These article starting coming out about missing kids who were last seen in the plant, and found out they were slaughtered, amoung others as well. Soon after the police saw they were slaughtering people, they shut the place down. Now for halloween, they set up the place, and just deck it down in scary decorations, and dress a lot of people up. Now, this place is in the middle of no where, so its just dirt and this huge building. once you walk up, you have bloody clowns, zombies and some other things. You walk up and they are just everywhere, they will chase after you once you get close. You could even be far away, and you will see someone running at you from a far. After you get past the creepy people, there are four lines, you can pick which one you go in first. One of the haunts is called Twisted Tree Mortuary, whoich is you just walk threw as people will act as if they are sleeping, but suddenly spring up and scare you. The second on is called Carnevil, this one, as your walking threw there are dead bloddy scary clowns that will jump out, yell at you, and chase you. The third haunt is called The broiler room, when I went, Me and my friend  couldnt go threw the whole part of the building. it was THAT scary! And last but not least, the fourth haunt is called The City Meats. On the Slaughter House website, they say this one is the scariest! It gives you warning on not to go in if you have any health conditions. It sayd you may be grabbed jumped at, maybe even bitten. But most of all, they have fluids that will squirt at you as your being scared!

Assignment#15-Integrity

Integrity is having good morals and good ethic principles. I personally think integrity means a person has good morals and and as well as being honest, being a good person all together. Integrity is something i value in a person because I'm sure every body wants their friends, family, co workers, etc. to have good morals , to be honest, friends, and a good person who wont back stab you. Some morals that I live by are, being honest. I hate people who lie, and I don't want to ever be involved with someone who lies, and i don't want to start lying. Also, i live by being a good person, having a good attitude, and being a nice person.

3. I don't think people should judge anyone from just infomation they are reading online because you dont know if its true or not.You should only be able to judge someone if you know them personally, and know enough about them to judge.
4. My digital footprint IS important, especially to other people because they can look up my background infomation, and see if i have any crimes that I've done or not. But also, it can be bad becasue someone could post smoething online about me and say things that might effect how people see and judge me.
5. I don't think that is a good way for admissions officer to make a final decisoon because they could be looking at false infomation.
6. Some ways that teens socialize and share information about each other and themselves are through social networking sites such as email, facebook, myspace, twitter, tumbler, etc.

Assignment#13- Online Scams and Schemes

A few years back, my grandma was scammed on Amazon. back then, she was addicted to online selling sites such as ebay, and amazon. She seemed to get what she wanted with some great deals.Until one time, she was buy something for my little cousin. She was asked for her credit card infomation, and had a few extra, small little questions you think that would have no effect on getting scammed. So she thought ntohing of it and kept filling out all of the infomation. The cost came out to a total of around $70. It said she would recieve her package in one to two weeks. Those weeks went by and nothing came in the mail. she tried contacting the person that "sold the ideam to her but she got nothing out of that. Then a few days after that, she got a call in the mail saying she owes a lot of money to the bank for all of the things she bought on her credit card. she explained what happened and started a case. a few weeks later after shutting her credit card off, they found who the person was. My grandma was not the only one who this happend to. After that, my grandma ended up getting all of her money back as well as the other victum.

Assignment#12-Risky Online Behavior

• Change the subject. If you know its wrong, talk about something else. bring up something else to talk about.
• Be honest. tell him that this isnt right. tell him you feel weird and uncomfortable.
• Don't talk to him. get off of the IM, ignore him for a few days so he gets that its not okay.
• Go to an adult. talk to an adult about the situation. and on what to do.
• Go to your friends. tell them your situation, and get advise from people your age.
• Tell him the truth. tell him that the age difference is bad. sending the pictures was bad as well. and you wont it all to stop for you guys to become friends.

1. I met nice at a camp. We do not talk often.
2. Nick is older than me by a lot of years. He just graduated college, and i just started high school.
3. Nick has asked me to keep this relationship a secret by asking me not to tell anyone.
4. I have felt really uncomfortable when Nick asked to send him pictures of me in my bathing suit and i did.

1. It seems like Nick is manipulating Sheyna, because hes asking her for bad pictures and asking her to keep the relationship a secret.
2. This might be a sensitive relationship for Sheyna by him being weird about telling people about them, and her not having her friends close to her anymore, so shes attaching to him because she has noone else.
3. The advise I would give to Sheyna about the relationship with Nick would be to  leave him, but tell him that it is legal to be dating and doing anything sexual such as sexting and sending bad pictures.

Assignment #11-Free Choice; First Tattoo

When I got my first tattoo, I was living in Tucson AZ, and came to visit my mom for my birthday. I was turning 16, and my mom told my sister she would get her a tattoo (Blue Collar Tattoo). Sadly, for my mom, I remembered and said it wasnt fair that shed get my sister a tattoo and not me.

So as I went to visit, on the 15th of July (my birthday is the 16th) me and my mother went to the tattoo shop that she got her tattoos at, I told the guy what tattoo I wanted, and where i wanted it. I wa so nervous on how painful and stuff. As he was setting up his station I was just sitting there shaking.

When I was getting the tattoo. the pain wasnt that bad, UNTIL he went over a spot the second time, then it hurt pretty bad. After it was done, it was pretty awesome, and i was so excited! now when people as how much it hurt, I just say that if they go over a spot that they already did, it hurts, but mostly it was the noise of the matchine that got to me.

Assignment #10- Happiest Place on Earth

My happiest place on earth is when I'm at my boyfriends house. His family makes me feel like I'm so loved, and welcome there. I have so much fun while there. I usually will talk to my boyfriends mother, and socialize with her for a while. and if I'm not doing that, I'm in my boyfriends room playing video games with him, on youtube, or something as simple as just watching tv with him. No matter what I'm doing, I'm always having fun over there!

Assignment #5- Politics

I do not follow politics because it is not in my interest and I just dont bother with anything that is in the politic range. I am a republican.

I am not sure if my parents are registered with political party.When I turn 18, I will not vote because i think it is a waste of my time, since i am not involved in that political stuff.

 I dont have any social issues that i like the most. and if i could pick anybody to be the president of the United States of America, it would be Betty White. I would pick her because she is very funny, she gives more than she wants to recieve. she is a great person.

Assignment #8- Stranded

If I was stramded on an island alone, the first thing i would bring would be my dog, Abby.he has been with me ever since I have been in second grade. She is definitely my baby.

My second thing I would bring would probably be my phone so i can talk to all of my friends and family, as well as my boyfriend. My phone is something I use everyday, and would be lost without. its my only communication with my family, friends, and boyfriend since they are all in Arizona.

And last but not least, my third thing that I would bring with me to this island would be my necklace that my boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day. I love it, and i wear it everyday.

Assignment #9- My top five Clothing Companies

Here is a list of my top five clothing companies.

Vans (1966)- First store opened up in Anihiem, California. This store started from shoes, and moved up into a little bit of clothing. More of a skater type look.

Zumies (1978)- First store opened in Seattle, and now has over 400 store locations all over the United States. Very similar to Vans. More towards the skater tyle clothing.

Tilly's (1982)- The first store opened in Southern California. This clothing relates to Vans and Zumiez. Leads to skater clothing as well as motorcross and snowboarding clothing.

Forever 21 (2006)- First store opened in Pasadena, California. They have very cute clothing. more towards matture, vintage clothing.

Pacsun (N/A)- First store opened in California. The clothing they have is very cute. similar as my other choices, a very vintage, old style, as well as new, skater style. This is my favorite store!

Assignment #7- Role model

The person I look up to as a role model would have to be my, not only boyfriend, but best friend, Stephen. I look up to him as a role model because of all of his different traits and how he is, personality wise. He is just a great person all together.

Some of the traits that I like the most about Stephen is, he is such a nice person. He is always so kind to people he knows, as well as doesnt know. His priority in life is to make the ones he loves happy, which is his family and friends. If any one of his friends or family needs something, he is always there for them, as well as me. He lives in Tucson, Arizona, which is 7-8 hours away from Costa Mesa, California. And he is still always there for me, helping me buy things I need that my mom cant help support, or buy. He is always caring for me, more than anyone ever has, he makes me happy, and helps me find the bright side to every situation. And most of all, the thing I love the most about him, is he NEVER gives up.

Stephen being a good person, helping others and putting them before himself makes me want to be the same way. i love when he makes other people happy and having them always want to be around him. just reassures me that he is a good guy, and he really cares about things that a lot of teenage guys don't care about. I want to be similar to him, put people before me in the right situations. I want my priority to be making people happy, all the time. And always be able to help my family and friends whenever I can. And help people get their needs, that they cannot get themselves.

I think being like him, looking up to a person like him, I could get really far in life. Live successful, have an amazing job, and well as an amazing family one day. I have been looking into being a nurse, or towards somewhere near that. And having a great personality like Stephen, I would do great. and help a lot of people in a lot of different ways. Make sure the people I love and the people are around me are happy to the fullest.

Assignment #6- Being Charitable

If I could choose any charity in California, I would choose Tony La Russa's Animal Recuse Foundation. I would pick this one because I love animals, and I enjoy being around them as well as saving their lives from whatever that case may be.

while doing research on this charity, it formed in 1990, during a baseball game, a cat wandered into the field during a game, the cat got scared and ended up being secured by a couch from one of the teams. He kept the cat safe until the end of the game, then he took the feline to a shelter. Their mission is to save dogs and cats who cant stay in a shelter any longer, or are getting abused at home, or as well as being homeless.  

Assignment #4- Dream School

If I could pick any school to go to after I graduate high school, it would be the University of Arizona (UofA). I would choose this school because it is a very successful school, also because I am from Arizona, and I am familiar with the campus because I did a volleyball camp there in the summer of '09.

If I was able to go there, I would most likely study in medicine or nursing. I would major in that because I have the personality for that type of work, as well as the patience. And to add to that, I already know quiet enough stuff about medicines.

The students that go to UofA, are very successful in life, have their priorities straight, and also are so nice and kind to one another. the teachers there as well, are very kind, and helpful. they are there because they actually want to be there.

Assignment #3- Expertise

I personally think that I am very good at Volleyball. I have been playing off and on since I was in about 6th grade. I enjoyed it off and on, and that is why I haven't been playing very much. My father always pushed me to play and I'm thinking thats why I never wanted to play as much. But now that I am getting older and wanting to get into sports again, I would really like to get int Volleyball again. And still hoping I am great at it!

The point of this sport is to get the ball over the net, without it hitting your side, on the ground. You also have to try to get the ball to hit the other teams ground, if that happens, your team gets a point. If the ball is on your side or the court, your team can only hit the ball three times, but remember, you can only hit it once, when someone else on your team hits it, you may hit it again, just can't touch it twice in a row.

With all of the rules that they have in Volleyball, I am only able to play on a regular court, unlike if I were to play water volleyball or beach volleyball. To play, you have to be in a certain area, depends where you are placed which is decided on the team or coach. From there, you have to stay in that amount of area, and if the ball comes towards you, you have to make sure you call "mine!" or something similar to that, just so you teammate that might be going for the ball at the same time you do, they back off so you guys don't get hurt.

This sport has a lot of rules, that i can't even begin to tell you. If you are interested, you can look them up. This is not just a girl sport, a lot of guys are into it too. I highly recommend this sport to play, it can be very easy at times, but it can get very hard and challenging! but it still can be a lot of fun either way!

Assignment #2- Favorite ?

The thing that interests me the most would have to be Marilyn Monroe. I am a big fan of her! She is completely gorgeous and is very talented! She was a model, a singer, and a actress.

Marilyn was her own person. she did what she wanted and not what other people expected of her, or wanted her to do. She was a a big believer and lover. She was also nice and giving as well as wanting the best for her and other people. She was very popular and never took advantage of that, like some of the other celeberties would. She gave a lot of her money away and would fund it towards peoples who needed supplies or whatever they might need.

People today are still remembering her and how amazing she was. Her music is amazing, along with the movies she has been in and the pictures she has modeled for. Now a days, you can go buy a picture framed with her picture in it, some of her movies on line, and her clothing in stores and online.

Assignment #1- Summer Vacation

This summer, I was in Tucson, Arizona. At the beginning of the summer, I did not do much, except hang out with my boyfriend, who is my best friend, and my family. We would usually go to the main mall to hangout, or maybe someones house for a little while. play games and such! We couldn't do any outdoor activities from it being so hot, and most likely us being dehydrated. Which is a very common thing in Tucson, from a hundred degree weather.

During the summer, I was living with my grandma, my moms mom. after most of the summer, I had to make a decision, and said I'd go live with my mother, who lives in Costa Mesa, California. I wasn't too happy about it, and spent as much time with my boyfriend as I could. we would go to the zoo, and hangout at his house, and just spend every minute we could with each other.

When i moved to California with my mom., it was really hard being away from my boyfriend. But for the part of the summer that I was here, I went to the beach maybe once or twice, and thats about it! but close to when school was starting, in August, my boyfriend came to visit for a week! We went to the beach, went to Disney Land, and stayed there for a whole day. And the last thing we did was go Whale Watching, we saw a lot of whales and dolphins! We had so much fun! then once that week was over, he left, and i had to start getting ready for school starting again.
